5/14/2009 Childrens Water Festival
The 14th annual Childrens Water Festival is May 14, 2009 at Michigan
State University, Wells Hall. Be sure to check out the Official

This section
will introduce local officials, public administrators
and their staff to the basics of hydrology, groundwater,
wellhead protection and best management practices.
After presenting basic knowledge and key concepts
readers are invited to take a fifteen question
quiz to test their knowledge. Participants, upon
successful completion of the quiz, are able to
print a certificate showing the date of completion
along with their name.
This section was developed with two goals in mind:
1.) To provide an easy,
localized reference for elected officials to turn
to when faced with decisions that may affect the
water resources in their community.
2.) A training tool for
administrators to use with current and new employees
to help them understand how their decisions and
actions can affect water resources. New employees
could be required to take the quiz as part of
their orientation. Current employees could participate
as of a community’s ongoing education efforts.
It is an easy, low cost method that delivers reliable
information in a cost effective manner.
